I keep seeing reading challenges pop up on different sites and blogs, and I love the idea so much, I thought I’d create my own version! I tend to pick my next book based on mood or recommendation or what’s handy at the moment. So I hope that having a list like this will inspire my 2016 reading a bit, and maybe focus my TBR pile some as well. I’m going to make it a fairly short list though, so I can leave myself lots of room for reading what strikes my fancy along the way. Fair enough, right? So here goes…
- A book set in a foreign country
- A retelling of a fairy tale or legend
- A book with a season in the title
- A book based on a true story
- A book that’s about to be made into a movie
- A debut author
- A book with a colour in the title
- A classic that I’ve never read
- A book with water of some kind on the cover
- An indie author
- A book featuring a MC from a different culture
- A book with a music theme
- A book with a one-word title
- A book with a title of at least six words
- A retelling of a Shakespeare play
- A book with a holiday as a central element
- A book with a purple cover
- A book set in space
- A book released in 2016
- A sequel to a book I read more than a year ago
Okay, I think that will do it. I’m excited to have a list to cross things off of! Anyone else challenging your list this year? Let me know, we can compare notes!
I never did a reading challenge–it typically takes me so long to finish a book! But I love the idea of checking things off a list, so I kind of really want to ha. I feel like that’s a weird reason!

That’s not weird at all! That’s the BEST reason to make any list! 🙂

I missed this post! I’ve never done a reading challenge, but I picked up the neatest reading challenge poster from my library a few weeks ago. It has that chalkboard graphic and font look to it, which I love. And it’s a calendar for the entire year, so yay! It’s on my fridge. =)

I love chalkboard graphics too! So chalkboard graphics with a reading challenge? Total win! 🙂
